Jet lag

It's now 6:20 a.m. on Sunday and Andy and I have been awake/up since 3:30 a.m. We thought we were doing so well yesterday with the time change, but I guess it just took some time to hit. We went to bed around 9:30 pm last night because we were SO tired, but ended up waking up every hour or so until we just couldn't sleep anymore. I'm sure the excitement of tomorrow is playing a large part.

The best part of the lack of sleep is that we were able to 'Skype' (web video calling) with Kelsey, Amanda, Nana, Gramps, and Alison! It is amazing how technology can make it seem like you're in the next room when you are actually more than 7,000 miles away from home. It was good to talk to everyone, especially the girls - strange not to be able to text or call at anytime. We miss them! All seems to be well at home and at Gordon. Got to say 'Hello' to Josh as well since he was visiting Amanda at school. Alison is always great to talk to. She has been such an enthusiastic supporter this entire journey - even knows all of the RQ lingo! Such awesome family we have!

We'll leave the hotel this morning at 8:10 a.m. on a shuttle for the airport in Hong Kong. Our flight to Changsha is at 11:55 a.m. and we arrive around 1:15 pm. Hopefully we'll get a nap in on the flight! Aina, our guide, will meet us at the airport. Not sure of the details for the remainder of the day, but I think we'll have some paperwork to take care of.

Then TOMORROW we get to meet Natalie! Excited doesn't even begin to describe how we're feeling! I'm not sure what time as the itinerary is vague, but we'll post here as soon as we know.

Please continue to pray for us. Pray for safe travel, and for Natalie's health and that she will bond with us quickly. We will be thrilled when we finally meet, but it most likely will be very traumatic for her as we are strangers to her. We will look different, talk differently, and even smell different from anyone that has taken care of her up until now. I/we do have faith that all will be well in time.

Ok, so I tried reading your blog out loud to everyone, but couldn't...way too emotional! I can't even imagine how you two are feeling.

I'm trying to figure out Skype, I think I have it up...so try to call me when you have a minute.

Try to get some rest. I have you all in my prayers & send you hugs!!!! Love you guys!

Hi, Alicia and Andy. Teresa was thoughtful enough to send a link to your blog, knowing that others are thinking of you and this incredible experience. It's unimaginable. All the best to you and your new daughter and Amanda and Kelsey: safe travel, good health, and lots of bonding. Thinking of you.
